Company History

Farrey's was established in 1924 in Miami Beach, Florida as a small general store. Founded by John and Emily Farrey, the general store sold hardware, linens, lights, china, fishing gear and other home products.

John and Emily’s sons, Lloyd, Vincent and Francis Farrey, also joined the family business, facing many challenges including the 1926 hurricane. During the housing boom in the 1950’s, the family focused the business more on lighting and bathroom fixtures.

In the late 1960s, the third generation joined the family business. Bud Farrey (Chairman and President) and Frank Farrey (Vice President and Chief Financial Officer) have continued to develop the business over the last three decades. Bud and Frank have continued the family's tradition of success by being able to change and grow with the times. The Farreys have also successfully faced outside challenges, including the riot in 1980 which completely wiped out the business (they were open for business at a new location only 22 days after the riot and kept all 100 employees on the payroll) and Hurricane Andrew in 1992.

Representing the fourth generation of Farreys, Paige Farrey (Marketing Director) and Kevin Farrey (Director of Internet Sales) joined the family business in the late 1990s.

Today, Farrey's is a $40 million international company with showrooms in North Miami, Florida and Coral Gables, Florida. Farrey's facilities exceed 131,000 square feet of showroom and warehouse space in North Miami, Florida and over 32,000 square feet at the Coconut Grove, Florida location
