TIP OF THE DAY: LED LIGHTS & MOSQUITOES

Summer is around the corner and many of us turn our thoughts to spending more time outside in the garden. It's time to dust off that BBQ and get ready for the few days of sunshine.

But...this also summer means more time outside which means a greater chance of getting bitten or stung by mosquitoes.

Mosquitoes are attracted to fluorescent lights and other ultraviolet light sources. Guess what? Light Emitting Diodes (LED) lights do not produce ultraviolet light, and therefore mosquitoes are not attracted to them. This makes LED lighting perfect for outside activities.

Also, did you know that mosquitoes are attracted to the heat and carbon dioxide expelled from humans and animals? Well, LED lighting does not emit carbon dioxide as other lighting does, which is another reason LED lighting does not attract mosquitoes.

This is great huh? Well...there are no more excuses for not being outside...
