We offer you
tips for taking the hub of your home to new heights with well-planned, beautiful
lighting. A well-lit kitchen will make your family and friends want to pull up a
chair and stay a while. Light can help enliven a space, making food look more
appetizing and helping dark tables feel bright and convivial. The advent of
slimline LEDs (many of which do not require hardwiring) means it is now easier
than ever to retrofit difficult spaces, such as under cabinets, without a huge
investment. A spacious kitchen needs layers of light - an overall light, task
light and accent light - to be efficient and create a homey
feel.

Tips to Make your Bath Look Fabulous- Part 2
Last week we began
our bathroom renovation by choosing a style, picking a finish and adding a
fresh coat of paint for a new summer look. Now it’s time to select the
accessories
Let’s begin…
Towel Rings
These are usually
used in guest baths, towel rings are normally placed next to the sink. Keep in
mind that many of the new towel rings on the market feature stylish designs,
making them a beautiful focal point in a small bath. Be sure to hang the towel
ring at a comfort level for those normally using the bath, including children
or seniors. A good rule of thumb is to leave at least 18 inches below a towel
ring so a hand towel can hang freely.
Towel Bars
Standard towel bar
lengths are 18 and 24 inches. Hang the bar at a comfortable height of 48 inches
above the floor, making sure to leave sufficient space below the bars for
towels to hang freely. If the towel bar is hung in a children’s bath, hang the
bar at a height of 36 inches. In either case, be sure to think about the
location of electrical switches and outlets when hanging your towel bars.
If you want to add
a fashionable element to the bath, double towel bars are the perfect choice. In
addition, double towel bars are ideal for a family bath, as a number of towels
can be hung on the accessory.
Paper Holders
Today’s bath
accessory collections include a variety of paper holder options, including
traditional wall-mounted, spring-loaded styles; pivoting paper holders and
free-standing paper holders. Determining the style for your bath is a matter of
taste.
Tooth Brush Holders/Cup Holders/Soap Dish
vs. Shelves
To make sure your
bath looks organized and clutter-free, use your best judgment in determining
the correct number or accessories for your bath. A general rule is two-to-three
counter accessories, such as a tooth brush holder, cup holder and soap dish.
If your bath is
small, or features a pedestal sink, you should choose mounted styles, or
perhaps a glass shelf. Shelves can be a handy, space-efficient alternative to
cabinets and are also a good place to display decorative items, such as candles
or potpourri.
After all these
tips, what do you think? Leave us a comment or share with us the new look of
your bathroom. We would love to see those before and after pictures.

Create Your Perfectly Welcome Home
Fortunately, lighting is fairly inexpensive and adaptable, able to change its style at the switch of a shade or the swap of a ceiling figure. Also essential to an inviting entryway are dimmers, which allow flexibility and mood enhancement.

entryway, as well as the rest of your home, check out our blog, follow us on facebook and twitter, or come visit either of our two showrooms.
Tips to Make your Bath Look Fabulous- Part 1
For many of us the
bathroom is a retreat. From luxury showers to whirlpool tubs our bathrooms have
become our private spas. But what if your bathroom is more the down-to-earth
typical 5x8 utilitarian box?
Did you know that there’s
so much you can do with a tiny bath and the real secrets lies in the accessories
Whether you are
looking for ultra-modern wall mounted accessories or more traditional counter
top accessories: towel bars, soap dish, toilet paper holder, and so forth
provide the finish touch to any bath project.
This month, we are
going to show you how to update the look of your bath. You will see how easy
and quick it can be, and the result will be exceptional.
Let’s get started…
1. Begin by emptying your bathroom of all the clutter.
Eliminate your old towel bars and toilet paper holder.
2. The next step is
determining your style. Is your
style traditional, contemporary, or modern?
Nowadays, manufacturers have created bathroom accessories to match with
their sinks, toilets, and tubs to make your life easier
3. Select the finish for your bathroom.
Pick traditional chrome for a bit of sparkle, brushed nickel for a soft glow or
oil rubbed bronze for quiet elegance.
4. Add a fresh coat of paint. Try earth tones and neutral colors such as
pale greens and browns. But, if you want an elegant look, then try white; it is
always a good choice. Lighter colors will keep your bathroom bright while
maintaining a touch of warmth.
5. Now, it’s time to
take accurate measurements of your bath and find out the number of accessories to match your bathroom décor. For
example, a master bath with double-bowl sinks will require a number of
accessories compared to a small guest bath.
Bathroom
accessories can create order and keep counters clear. And well-positioned towel
bars not only offer storage close at hand, but also present a design component
to hang colorful, coordinating towels.
So… Are you ready
to begin the transformation? What’s the style of your bathroom? What’s the finish you want for your bathroom? What color do you want to paint the bathroom?
Leave us your thoughts in the comments below; and stay tuned for the
next post, we will talk about tips for placing the most common bathroom
accessories to make your bathroom look unique.

Great Lighting Solutions for Summertime
It’s summertime
now, the days are longer than the nights, therefore; you don’t need so much

Hug your Cat and Meet The Lone Ranger
Did you know that today is Hug Your Cat Day? Go ahead and give your cat a big, furry hug.
If you're a cat lover, you can really appreciate the warm, cozy feeling you get when you curl up on a couch or chair, and hug your cat. The only problem is, your cat will most likely only allow a brief hug before sauntering away. If your cat is a true hugger, count your blessings.
Today, we have a big guest at Farrey’s; his name is The Lone Ranger. He was born last night and found in the back yard of Laly and Javier’s house. This couple works here at Farrey’s in the purchasing department and they have an incredible love for animals.
This newborn kitty, less than 24 hours old, is full of hugs and love; and we all hope that he survives, he is a true warrior. Isn’t he cute?
You don't have a cat? You can correct this today. The month of June is "Adopt a Cat Month".
